Our take
What does Éclat de Fleurs smell like?
Released in summer 2015, Éclat de Fleurs borrows the round silhouette of the Arpège bottle. The glass is ribbed to suggest daisy petals. Anne Flipo and Nicolas Beaulieu composed it. It opens on juicy pear with a small aldehydic fizz, like a soft drink. That pear never really leaves. It hangs in the background while the heart settles in with sheer freesia, light rose and jasmine sambac. The bouquet is bright and fairly polite. Underneath, a nearly invisible white musk and a little sandalwood give it some staying power without much warmth. Despite the bottle, the link to Arpège is purely visual. The closer relative is Éclat d’Arpège with its lemon and lilac. Éclat de Fleurs is fruitier and pinker. It is clearly aimed at a younger buyer. Pear lovers will be happy.
When to wear it
A brunch or spring walk scent that you can spray freely. It fades fast, so a top-up at lunchtime helps.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Éclat de Fleurs is one of 14 creations by Lanvin in our encyclopedia.
