Our take
What does Yara smell like?
Lattafa introduced Yara around the turn of the 2020s, in a pink bottle that is now easy to spot on any shelf. No perfumer is credited. The opening pairs juicy mandarin with orchid and heliotrope, and the heliotrope brings its powdery almond texture straight away. The heart is pure dessert. A milky gourmand accord carries tropical fruit that hints at mango and passion fruit without spelling them out. Think sweetened yogurt more than a fruit bowl. The base keeps things simple, with soft vanilla and clean musk over a creamy sandalwood. Nothing here is dark or resinous. The line has since grown to include Yara Moi and Yara Tous, which should not be confused with the original. Longevity is decent, and the trail settles to a moderate hum after the first hour.
When to wear it
A daytime scent from spring through winter for anyone who likes soft, comforting perfumes. Three sprays won't bother anyone.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber family. Yara is one of 4 creations by Lattafa in our encyclopedia.
