What does Imagination smell like?
Louis Vuitton released Imagination in 2021 as part of its men's collection. In-house perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud composed it. The opening is smooth citrus made of citron, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian orange. There is no harsh acidity. It feels like freshly grated zest. The heart warms things up. Tunisian neroli keeps the brightness while ginger and Ceylon cinnamon add just enough bite. Then comes the best part. Chinese black tea with a faint smokiness lands on ambroxan, which reads as clean salty skin. Guaiac wood and frankincense dry it all out. It often gets compared with Bleu de Chanel for its citrus woody profile. Imagination is sheerer and far pricier. Plenty of women wear it too. The tea note lasts surprisingly well. After six hours you still get a faint smoky trace on the collar of a shirt.
When to wear it
It works year round, at the office or at dinner. Two sprays on the neck do the job since the ambroxan lasts.
