Our take
What does Man Ice smell like?
Jimmy Choo Man Ice arrived in spring 2017, three years after the first Jimmy Choo Man. Michel Almairac composed the eau de toilette, which the brand called a casual chic fragrance. The opening lives up to the name. Citron, bergamot and mandarin snap like ice cubes in a glass of soda. Apple follows, crisp and a little sour. The heart slides into wood, with vetiver, cedar and patchouli sketching a dry frame that never feels heavy. At the base, musk and ambroxan leave a clean and almost salty trail while moss adds a green shadow. It is a white shirt scent built to please as many people as possible. Next to Bleu de Chanel it shares the citrus over wood idea. Man Ice is lighter and fruitier, though, and it has neither the incense nor the staying power.
When to wear it
A summer daytime scent for the office or a café terrace. Longevity is short, so keep a travel spray in your bag.
It belongs to the Woody, Aromatic family. Man Ice is one of 7 creations by Jimmy Choo in our encyclopedia.
