Our take
What does Angel Fruity Fair smell like?
Mugler released Angel Fruity Fair in spring 2018 as a limited eau de toilette. The idea is simple: keep the frame of the 1992 Angel and take it to the funfair. It opens with tart blackcurrant and juicy lychee. That sweet and sour pair wakes the nose up before the sugar lands. The brand talks about rose thorn in the heart. What you actually smell is a fruity, almost jammy rose surrounded by red berries. The base stays loyal to the house. Patchouli is present but quieter than in the original, and a whipped vanilla takes the place of burnt caramel. Picture whipped cream on a red fruit tart. Next to Angel the contrast is obvious. The 1992 original is dark and earthy while Fruity Fair stays bright and playful. It also fades sooner, which you would expect from an eau de toilette.
When to wear it
A spring daytime scent that needs a top-up mid-afternoon. Three sprays on wrists and neck give a sweet trail without crowding anyone.
It belongs to the Gourmand, Fruity family. Angel Fruity Fair is one of 23 creations by Mugler in our encyclopedia.
