Our take
What does Invictus Victory Elixir smell like?
Victory Elixir is the darkest corner of the Paco Rabanne Invictus line. It came out around 2023, labelled Parfum Intense, and the house has not put a perfumer’s name forward. Forget the salty grapefruit of the 2013 original. The opening sets lavandin, more camphorous than true lavender, against green cardamom and black pepper. Then the heart turns to incense and patchouli: church smoke drifting over damp earth. The heavy base relies on vanilla and tonka to round everything off. On skin it reads more like smoked crème brûlée than anything sporty. Projection stays strong for hours and the trail is still thick by evening. This is a night-time seduction scent with more in common with niche amber woods than with the rest of its own family.
