Our take
What does Invictus Victory smell like?
Paco Rabanne added Invictus Victory to the line in 2021, eight years after the original Invictus. It is sold as an extreme eau de parfum. It turns its back on the aquatic freshness of the first one and heads for amber. Lemon opens cleanly, pricked by a pink pepper that does not last. Lavender and incense then form the heart. This is the most interesting pairing in the scent, with a light smoke that dries out the aromatic flower. Then everything turns sweet. Vanilla and tonka fill the base, with amber giving them volume. Longevity is excellent and so is projection. Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male Le Parfum is another lavender vanilla built for the evening. Next to it, Victory seems simpler, sweeter and less powdery. It will please people who found the original Invictus too sporty. Others may find it predictable by the second hour.
When to wear it
For autumn and winter evenings. Two sprays at most, as it projects hard for the first few hours.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber, Spicy family. Invictus Victory is one of 35 creations by Paco Rabanne in our encyclopedia.
