What does L'Homme Intense smell like?
Prada released L'Homme Intense in 2017, a year after L'Homme Prada. Daniela Andrier, the house perfumer, took her iris and pushed it somewhere warmer. The iris shows up right away, powdery and a little soapy, with amber already humming underneath. There's no citrus sparkle at all. The heart adds patchouli, dark yet clean, plus a touch of leather that reads as suede rather than saddle. In the base, tonka brings a toasted sweetness and sandalwood makes everything creamy. Picture a pressed white shirt folded away in a wooden drawer. Against the 2016 L'Homme Prada, the Intense version loses the bright neroli and gains body. It still stays legible and never heavy, which is rare among amber woody fragrances for men. Allure named it best men's fragrance in 2017, and it's easy to see why.
When to wear it
A powdery woody scent that moves from office to dinner, especially in autumn. Two sprays on the chest last the whole day.
