Our take
What does Amber pour Homme smell like?
Prada launched Amber pour Homme in 2006, also sold as Prada Man. Daniela Andrier composed it, with Miuccia Prada closely involved according to the brand. The top pairs neroli, bergamot and mandarin with cool cardamom. It's bright and very clean, like a freshly ironed shirt. The heart reveals the real subject. A luxury soap accord carried by geranium and orange blossom, with a slightly resinous myrrh. A quiet vetiver keeps it upright. The base is ambery without being heavy. Labdanum and vanilla add warmth and tonka softens. Light leather and sandalwood give it staying power. Caron's Pour un Homme comes to mind for its blend of aromatics and softness, but Amber pour Homme is soapier and more resinous. Its cleanliness can feel impersonal. It also makes it one of the safest office scents around.
When to wear it
