Our take
What does Lady Rem smell like?
Reminiscence, a French house founded in 1970 and better known for its jewellery, gave its Rem line a feminine version in 2018 with Lady Rem. The perfumer was not disclosed. It opens on a frank raspberry, sweet without tipping into jam. Orange blossom soon takes over and adds roundness and a bit of light. The base switches register. A chypre accord built on patchouli settles in, and leather arrives with a touch of blond tobacco. The pull between red fruit and leather brings fruity modern chypres to mind, along the lines of Coco Mademoiselle, only darker and smokier. The brand is mostly known for Rem, its coconut holiday scent. Lady Rem takes the opposite route with darker materials. The bottle is plain and the price is reasonable for an eau de parfum. On skin the tobacco settles in after an hour, and from then on it stays put.
When to wear it
An evening scent for the colder months. Two sprays on the wrists, since the leather takes a while to appear.
It belongs to the Chypre, Fruity family. Lady Rem is one of 20 creations by Reminiscence in our encyclopedia.
