Our take
What does Oud Glacial smell like?
Reminiscence launched Oud Glacial in 2019 and sells it as unisex. No perfumer is named. The name sums up the idea: take oud, the warmest of notes, and chill it. Mint leads the top. Fresh almond and a touch of saffron come along, which gives an iced orgeat syrup effect. Rose and violet appear in the heart with a quiet lily of the valley. The frosted mint returns here like a draught. The base turns more serious. Cypriol adds a smoky root smell and patchouli brings some earth. The oud stays tame, with nothing animalic. Tom Ford's Oud Wood is drier and more muted. Oud Glacial plays on hot and cold contrast instead. On paper it is original. On skin the mint dominates for a long time and hides part of the wood.
When to wear it
Made for summer or a mild autumn, mostly by day. Three sprays are enough.
