What does Haltane smell like?
Launched in 2021, Haltane sees Parfums de Marly exploring ground between aromatic fougère and woody oriental. The opening is herbal and bright, with lavender, clary sage and bergamot sketching an almost classic, slightly barbershop freshness. The heart springs a surprise as leathery saffron and gourmand praline soften the herbs and give them a velvety texture, like caramelised lavender. The base of oud and cedar brings a dry, woody, faintly smoky depth that gives structure to the praline's sweetness. The result is rich and elegant, with a constant contrast between clean aromatics and dark wood, and more nuanced than it first appears.

Evenings or dressy occasions in autumn and winter; it suits lovers of gourmand lavenders and refined woods.
