Our take
What does Rem Escale à St Barth smell like?
Reminiscence released Rem Escale à St Barth in summer 2017, first as a limited edition, with a formula by Mathieu Nardin. It extends Rem, the brand’s 1996 marine scent. The opening smells of the sea. Bergamot and mandarin fizz over an iodine accord that brings to mind seaweed in the sun. The heart adds a warm sand accord with creamy ylang-ylang and orange blossom softening it all. It feels like skin drying on the beach. The base mixes salt, vanilla and sandalwood, then amber and musk. The salt stays noticeable for a long time, and that is the best part. Compared with the original Rem, which is greener and more watery, the Escale is sunnier and more floral. It loosely recalls Estée Lauder’s Bronze Goddess without the coconut. Longevity is light, as with most summer waters.
When to wear it
For summer, on holiday or weekends, on skin fresh from a swim. Spray generously, it stays discreet.
It belongs to the Floral, Aquatic family. Rem Escale à St Barth is one of 20 creations by Reminiscence in our encyclopedia.
