What does Chrome United smell like?
Seventeen years after Chrome, Azzaro released Chrome United in 2013. The house framed it as a tribute to male friendship. Richard Ibanez built this eau de toilette around a woody freshness inspired by a summer day. Bergamot opens alongside coriander and Sichuan pepper, which tingles and smells almost like zest. Violet leaf and Ceylon black tea carry the heart. Together they give a green, faintly smoky feel that is more grown up than the original. The base comes down to cedar and white musk, very clean. Chrome is more aquatic and lemony, while United is drier and woodier. The pepper and wood combination sometimes recalls a lighter Terre d'Hermès. Nothing here tries to impress. It simply does the job without noise, and that is its main strength. Think of it as a reliable office shirt in bottle form.
When to wear it
A daytime office scent from spring to autumn. Three sprays are enough, since it stays close to the skin.
