Our take
What does Azzaro pour Elle smell like?
Azzaro released Azzaro pour Elle in 2015, an eau de parfum composed by Fabrice Pellegrin and Nathalie Lorson. It opens with a fizzy champagne accord, served with orange and mandarin. Cardamom adds a peppery shiver you only catch on the second sniff. Rose runs the heart. A juicy peach rounds it out and lily lets in some light. Then the base warms up. Cashmere wood and sandalwood make a creamy bed, with a thin thread of incense and vanilla to soften the edges. Lancôme's La Vie est Belle comes to mind for the soft amber feel. Azzaro pour Elle is far less sugary, though, and keeps a woodier texture. It reads as an evening perfume that still works in daylight if you go easy on the trigger. For a house best known for its 1978 men's fougère, this is a tidy feminine that never quite finds its own voice.
When to wear it
Two sprays on the neck for a dinner or an autumn evening. In summer heat the vanilla base turns heavy fast.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Azzaro pour Elle is one of 24 creations by Azzaro in our encyclopedia.
