What does Wanted Girl Tonic smell like?
Azzaro lightened Wanted Girl in 2020 with Tonic, a women’s eau de toilette composed at IFF. The brand says it took inspiration from the floral tinctures models dab behind their ears to stay fresh between shows. It opens on kiwi, tart and a little green, alongside a fizzy ginger. The heart pairs acai berry, fruity with a purple tint, with datura. That white flower adds some creaminess without becoming heady. The base is a bamboo wood accord, airy and clean, barely warmed by tonka bean. This is a long way from the dulce de leche of Wanted Girl, released a year earlier. Tonic keeps the family ginger and drops the caramel. Think of it as a summer sister rather than a lighter copy. The result feels closer to a scented face mist than to an evening perfume.
When to wear it
A summer daytime spray to use after a shower. It fades in two or three hours, so reapply freely.
