Our take
What does Nina Pop smell like?
Nina Ricci released Nina Pop in 2015 to mark ten years of Nina, the red apple scent from 2006. The bottle keeps the glass apple, this time in a festive pink. The opening is tangy. Calabrian lemon and a caipirinha accord, which we read as lime, smell like an iced drink by the pool. The heart goes back to the house style. There's candy apple and peony, with praline and a vanilla infusion that sweeten without weighing things down. Datura, or moonflower, adds a slightly creamy white flower. The base stays light. White cedar, apple tree leaves and a cotton musk give a clean-skin feel. Compared with Nina, Nina Pop is more lemony and less caramelised. It also fades sooner. The pink apple bottle makes it an easy gift, and the price helps too.
When to wear it
A summer scent for outdoor days and weekends. Plan to reapply in the afternoon since the musky base drops off fairly fast.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Nina Pop is one of 20 creations by Nina Ricci in our encyclopedia.
