Our take
What does Tendre Poison smell like?
Dior launched Tendre Poison in 1994 in a green bottle, a calmer take on the 1985 Poison. It is credited to Edouard Fléchier, and one source also links Dior's then president to its creation. The opening is boldly green. Galbanum brings its bitter smell of snapped stems and freshly shelled peas, softened by mandarin and bergamot. Then the heart opens up. Freesia and orange blossom give a springlike light, and tuberose a creamy touch. Honey adds a round warmth that leads into the base. That base is soft and powdery. Sandalwood and vanilla blend with heliotrope and a light musk. The contrast between bitter green and gentle honey recalls the great green florals of the 1970s, in a more modern key. Tendre Poison is no longer part of Dior's Poison range and has been discontinued.
