Our take
What does Armani Code Sport smell like?
Armani Code Sport arrived in spring 2011 as the sporty spin-off of Armani Code from 2004. Jacques Cavallier, then at Firmenich, composed it. The idea fits in one word, and that word is mint. Three of them open the scent: wild mint, peppermint and spearmint. A mandarin cushions the blow. The effect is icy, close to a chlorophyll chewing gum. Lemon and ginger take over next and keep the freshness alive. The base rests on a heavy dose of ambrox, the ambery molecule that grips the skin. Vetiver and a watery note keep it company. This is far from the original Code and its tonka base. Code Sport belongs with the minty fresh scents of its time, only cleaner. It works well after a workout. The mint can wear thin by the second hour, though.
When to wear it
For summer, the gym or lazy weekends. Three sprays on the neck and arms, and the ambrox keeps going long after the mint fades.
It belongs to the Citrus, Aromatic family. Armani Code Sport is one of 46 creations by Giorgio Armani in our encyclopedia.
