Our take
What does Aqua Allegoria Flora Cherrysia smell like?
Guerlain added Flora Cherrysia to the Aqua Allegoria line in 2019, with Thierry Wasser as perfumer. The line aims for light colognes built around one material, and this time it is cherry blossom. The top pairs Calabrian bergamot with watermelon, a watery, faintly sweet note that recalls juice from a cut fruit. The heart sets up the cherry blossom accord, pink and very soft, alongside crisp nashi pear. A quiet rose gives it some structure. The base keeps things simple. Pale woods, white musk and a dusting of violet make for a clean, tender finish. It suggests a falling petal more than a branch in bloom. Compared with the Cherry Blossom Guerlain launched in 2000, Flora Cherrysia is more watery and fruity, and less powdery too. Longevity is typical Aqua Allegoria, which means short.
