Our take
What does Météorites Le Parfum smell like?
In 2018 Guerlain spun a perfume out of its famous Météorites powder pearls. Thierry Wasser built this eau de toilette around violet, the signature note of the makeup. It has nothing to do with the limited-edition Météorites of 2000, which was more powdery and more iris-led. The opening is a surprise. Apple dominates, green and crunchy, with fresh bergamot and green notes that recall a cut stem. Violet appears next, fresher than powdery, alongside a discreet rose. The base is light, just white musk and a few woody notes that stay close to the skin. You expect the smell of the powder compact. You get a summery fruity floral instead, close to Marc Jacobs Daisy. It fades fast, two to three hours at best. That is its main weakness, and a strange one for a house known for staying power.
When to wear it
A daytime summer scent, quiet enough for the office. Plan to reapply after lunch since longevity is short.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Météorites Le Parfum is one of 89 creations by Guerlain in our encyclopedia.
