Our take
What does Mon Guerlain Sparkling Bouquet smell like?
Four years after Mon Guerlain, Sparkling Bouquet joined the family in 2021. Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk return to their lavender and vanilla pairing. Jelk describes it as a pear and lavender sorbet melting onto burnt vanilla. That is a fair picture. Pear opens it, juicy and slightly fizzy, alongside bergamot and mandarin. Lavender arrives quickly. It is soft and clean here, far from the herbal edge it has in a fougère. Bright sambac jasmine and a light peony keep it company. The base returns to the line's vanilla, set on sandalwood and white musk. Against the 2017 Mon Guerlain, Sparkling Bouquet feels fresher and fruitier at the start. That gap closes after an hour, and the two end up almost identical on skin. If you already own the original, it is a hard sell.
When to wear it
A spring daytime scent, from the office to a lunch outdoors. Two sprays on the neck and the vanilla does the rest.
