Our take
What does Miracle Secret smell like?
In 2017 Lancôme launched Miracle Secret as a variation on Miracle, its spicy floral from 2000. The house didn't name a perfumer for this eau de parfum. The opening is fruity and bright. Pear leads, with bergamot keeping it from turning into syrup. The heart lines up three flowers: a fresh peony, a fairly sunny sambac jasmine and rose absolute. Nothing surprising, but the balance is clean and easy to read. The base is standard for a modern mainstream floral. Musk, vanilla and amber make a soft skin scent, held in place by Virginia cedar that dries things out a little. The ginger and pepper that gave the original Miracle its edge are nowhere to be found. Miracle Secret sits closer to a lighter La Vie est Belle, with the same taste for sweet fruit and none of the heavy praline.
When to wear it
An easy daytime scent that goes from the office to dinner, best in spring and autumn. Two sprays on the wrists will do.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Miracle Secret is one of 25 creations by Lancôme in our encyclopedia.
