Our take
What does Hugo Woman Extreme smell like?
Hugo Boss released Hugo Woman Extreme in 2016 as an eau de parfum, giving the women’s Hugo line more body. The house has not named a perfumer. The published pyramid is short, which is no bad thing. Up top, tart boysenberry meets freshly mown grass. The contrast works: the fruit stays juicy and never turns into syrup. The heart lays light jasmine over dry, almost tannic black tea. Think of a steaming cup next to a bowl of berries. The base rests on osmanthus, with its apricot and soft leather smell. That is what lingers on skin. The tea recalls Bulgari’s Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert from a distance, only fruitier and less airy. The word Extreme is odd here, since the scent stays polite and mid-strength.
When to wear it
A daytime choice for spring or summer, at work or on weekends. Three sprays on skin, the osmanthus shows up after an hour.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Hugo Woman Extreme is one of 35 creations by Hugo Boss in our encyclopedia.
