Our take
What does Fever smell like?
Jimmy Choo launched Fever in 2018 as an eau de parfum. Nathalie Lorson and Honorine Blanc are the perfumers. It was meant to be darker than the 2011 Jimmy Choo, known for its pear and toffee. Black plum leads the top. It is ripe and nearly boozy, cut by rosy lychee and a grapefruit that keeps a little bitterness. The heart turns powdery. Heliotrope brings its almond paste smell while vanilla orchid and jasmine dress it in white flowers. Orange blossom stays in the back. Then the base turns up the heat. Roasted tonka, benzoin and vanilla form a warm block, with a hint of coffee and hazelnut. Sandalwood softens the edges. The whole thing reads more like a flambéed dessert than a bouquet. Next to the original Jimmy Choo, Fever is more gourmand and clearly darker. Its base also lasts far longer.
When to wear it
An evening perfume for the cold months that works well on a date. One or two sprays will do since the tonka base projects hard.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber family. Fever is one of 7 creations by Jimmy Choo in our encyclopedia.
