Our take
What does Daisy Dream smell like?
Seven years after Daisy, Marc Jacobs brought back Alberto Morillas and Ann Gottlieb for Daisy Dream in 2014. The bottle keeps its daisies, this time on sky-blue glass. The opening is juicy. Blackberry and pear make a light syrup, and grapefruit keeps the sugar on a leash. Then comes wisteria, a rare note in perfume, airy and slightly powdery. Lychee adds a rosy tang, and jasmine gives the heart more punch than the original had. The base stays light. White woods, musks and coconut water leave a clean skin scent, barely creamy. Daisy is greener and more floral. Dream leans clearly toward fruit. Reviewers at launch called it nice but unsurprising, which is fair. Wisteria is the one detail worth noting. Few mainstream perfumes use it, and here it gives the heart a soft lilac feel that lasts longer than the fruit. The rest plays it very safe.
When to wear it
Made for warm days, at the office or out for a walk. Four sprays won't bother anyone, and longevity is short anyway.
It belongs to the Floral, Fruity family. Daisy Dream is one of 4 creations by Marc Jacobs in our encyclopedia.
