Our take
What does Figue smell like?
Molinard, a Grasse house founded in 1849, released Figue in 2016 within its Les Éléments line. This eau de parfum is meant for everyone. The house files it as floral fruity, and the opening backs that up. The fig arrives ripe and fleshy, lifted by sharp lemon and slightly prickly blackcurrant. The heart adds green leaves and a fairly quiet jasmine sambac. That is where the fig sap appears, the green milky note you smell when you snap a branch. The base keeps it simple with cedar, musks and Amberwood. It gives fair longevity without weighing the fruit down. Diptyque's Philosykos is still the best-known niche fig. Next to it, Figue is fruitier, sweeter and less woody. The price stays reasonable for a Grasse eau de parfum, which makes it a good entry point.
When to wear it
