Our take
What does Rose Tangerine smell like?
In August 2020 Chloé added a Rose Tangerine eau de toilette to its range, signed by Michel Almairac and Sidonie Lancesseur of Robertet. The concept is simple. Take the house rose and drop it into citrus. Tangerine opens with sweet zest, cut by green notes that keep it from smelling like juice. The heart brings a white rose, fresher than powdery. Black currant gives it a crushed bud feel with a slight sting. The base stays light. Cedar and white amber provide a clean, nearly sheer finish that never pushes forward. Compared with the 2008 Chloé Eau de Parfum, Rose Tangerine drops the powdery veil and the lipstick feel. It gains liveliness and loses character. Staying power is modest, as is often the case with the brand’s summer eaux de toilette.
When to wear it
