Our take
What does Nina Soleil smell like?
In January 2022 Nina Ricci added a limited edition called Nina Soleil to its Nina family. The apple bottle got a summer makeover and came only in a 50 ml size. The brand did not name the perfumer. Mandarin and bergamot open things up, juicy and fairly brief. Then comes the main idea, chantilly cream laid over gardenia. The flower stays creamy rather than heady, a bit like a white-floral sun lotion. Vanilla and cedar form the base. The wood dries out the sweetness and keeps it from becoming dessert. Compared with the 2006 Nina and its candy-apple tartness, Soleil is milkier and calmer. Like any limited edition, it now turns up mostly at discounters clearing old stock. The small 50 ml size makes it easy to finish within a single summer.
When to wear it
A beach and weekend eau de toilette that needs a top-up by midafternoon. Spray it freely on arms and hair.
It belongs to the Floral, Gourmand family. Nina Soleil is one of 20 creations by Nina Ricci in our encyclopedia.
