What does La Femme smell like?
Prada launched La Femme in 2016 as a pair with L'Homme Prada. Daniela Andrier, the house's long-time perfumer, composed it. The opening mixes bergamot and magnolia, with carrot seed adding an earthy note close to iris. Frangipani soon takes over. It is a creamy, almost sunny white flower, made fleshier by tuberose and ylang-ylang. Iris, Andrier's signature material at Prada, keeps a little powder in the middle of the bouquet. The base is the most original part. Beeswax gives the texture of a candle just blown out. Vanilla softens it and vetiver keeps the whole thing dry. Mugler's Alien is another big sunny floral, but it rests on jasmine and amber. La Femme is quieter and waxier by comparison. It can lack strength on dry skin, where the frangipani fades after a couple of hours.
When to wear it
Perfect for a summer dinner or an autumn evening. Apply it on moisturised skin to help it last.
