What does Eau de Rochas Escapade Tropicale smell like?
In 2018 Rochas released a limited summer edition of Eau de Rochas called Escapade Tropicale. The wavy glass bottle turned pink and its label filled up with tropical plants. The perfumer behind this version was not disclosed. The eau de toilette opens on a tart duo of lemon and black currant, cooled by neroli. You can recognize the citrus spirit of the original with more fruit. The heart is a tropical orchard. Water fruits and juicy mango mix there, with cedar to keep it from turning into syrup. The base is light and musky. Ambroxan gives a salty skin feel and raspberry a last touch of sugar. Next to the classic Eau de Rochas, which is greener and closer to a chypre, Escapade Tropicale smells more like a beach cocktail. It stays in the family in holiday mode.
When to wear it
Spray it freely in summer, after the beach or before drinks. It doesn’t last long, which suits a hot weather scent.
