What does Chrome Extreme smell like?
Chrome Extreme came out in 2019 as an eau de parfum take on Azzaro Chrome, the 1996 aquatic for men. The idea stays the same: a clean blue scent that is easy to wear. It opens on green mandarin, tart and slightly bitter. Juniper berries meet a marine accord in the heart. Picture pine trees by the water with a faint salty edge. The base adds what the original lacked. Amber and cashmeran, a musky wood that smells like a wool sweater, give it more body without making it heavy. Next to the original Chrome, which is more lemony and soapy, Extreme feels warmer and more grown up. It also lasts much longer on skin. The only complaint is that it resembles many other blue scents from the same period. In a crowded aisle it struggles to stand out.
When to wear it
Versatile enough for daytime from spring to autumn, at work or on weekends. Three or four sprays and it stays reasonable.
