Our take
What does La Fille de l'Air Iris smell like?
Courrèges introduced La Fille de l'Air Iris at the end of summer 2017. Fabrice Pellegrin wrote it as a powdery variation on La Fille de l'Air. Citrus leads the way: mandarin and bergamot, lit by a light neroli. They don't last. Iris settles in fast, joined by heliotrope that smells of almond and modelling clay. Orange blossom adds some light. This heart is the most interesting part of the perfume. The base is soft, almost like a cosmetic: cedar, tonka and white musk. It stays in clean powder from start to finish. Prada's Infusion d'Iris is earthier and drier, while this one leans on the gourmand side of heliotrope. It seems to have left the shelves since. Remaining bottles mostly turn up at discount sellers. If you find one at a good price, it makes a soft, easy iris for daily wear.
When to wear it
A gentle office iris for autumn or spring. Two sprays on the wrists and collar are enough.
It belongs to the Floral, Powdery family. La Fille de l'Air Iris is one of 9 creations by Courrèges in our encyclopedia.
