Our take
What does Guilty Black pour Homme smell like?
Gucci launched Guilty Black pour Homme in 2013 alongside the women’s Guilty Black. This eau de toilette extends the 2011 Gucci Guilty pour Homme in a version billed as darker. The green glass bottle is sheathed in black metal. In terms of scent it is a fairly classic aromatic fougère. The opening pairs fresh lavender with green, slightly peppery coriander. The heart brings orange blossom and neroli along with green notes that recall a freshly cut stem. That floral touch softens the fougère without making it feminine. The base is short and simple: cedar and patchouli with a light sweetness. For all its name, Guilty Black is not dark at all. It is actually greener and lighter than the original Guilty pour Homme, from which it keeps the lavender and orange blossom.
When to wear it
A spring or autumn eau de toilette for daytime or a relaxed night out. Longevity is weak, so use four sprays with two on clothing.
It belongs to the Fougère, Aromatic family. Guilty Black pour Homme is one of 16 creations by Gucci in our encyclopedia.
