Our take
What does L'Homme Lacoste Intense smell like?
Lacoste released L'Homme Lacoste Intense in 2018, a year after L'Homme Lacoste. Several retailers credit the formula to Michel Girard. The logic of a Lacoste intense is no mystery: keep the freshness of the original and beef up the base. It opens tart. Rhubarb and mandarin give a crunchy green-fruit feel, with a hint of quince according to some lists. Black pepper and ginger warm up the heart. From there it turns properly woody. Cedar and vetiver draw a dry base. Cypriol adds a smoky shadow and Akigalawood a peppery patchouli note. This is a very readable woody spice with no surprises. Next to Bleu de Chanel, which also sets citrus over wood, the Lacoste smells fruitier up top and rougher at the bottom. It targets a young crowd and hits that mark easily.
When to wear it
A spicy woody scent for autumn and winter, for daytime or a casual night out. Three sprays on the chest: it lasts reasonably well but projects little after two hours.
It belongs to the Woody, Spicy family. L'Homme Lacoste Intense is one of 11 creations by Lacoste in our encyclopedia.
