Our take
What does Touch of Pink smell like?
Lacoste launched Touch of Pink in 2004 in a pink bottle that carried the brand's sporty spirit. Perfumer Domitille Michalon, now Domitille Bertier, wrote the formula. The opening is spicier than you'd guess. Blood orange meets coriander and cardamom, and a touch of peach softens them. The heart stays simple. Jasmine and violet leaf give a slightly green, clean laundry feel. Vanilla, musk and sandalwood make up the base. It never gets heavy and recalls skin after a day in the sun. Published pyramids vary from one retailer to the next, but this outline keeps coming back. Against Estée Lauder's Pleasures, another easy fresh floral, Touch of Pink is spicier and fruitier. It doesn't last long, which suits its mood. The coriander is what makes it memorable, since it gives the citrus a dry and almost peppery edge that few pink bottles attempt.
