What does L'Homme Lacoste Timeless smell like?
Under its Coty licence, Lacoste launched this L'Homme Lacoste flanker in July 2019. The original L'Homme Lacoste came out in 2017. Cardamom and bergamot open the scent, followed by a green and tart rhubarb. That's the best part, lively and a little crunchy. The heart warms up with ginger and black pepper, and a hint of jasmine smooths the edges. The base falls into familiar territory. Cedar, dry amber, vanilla and musk make a clean woody base with a slight sweetness. Compared with Terre d'Hermès, another spicy woody, this one is softer and less mineral. It doesn't have the same depth. It aims for versatility and gets there. You can wear it to the office without a second thought, which is its strength and its limit. It lacks the one detail that would make people recognise it across a room.

For the office in spring or autumn. Three sprays, since projection stays moderate.
