Our take
What does Me smell like?
Lanvin released Me in 2013, an eau de parfum by Domitille Bertier of IFF. The house paired it with a simple motto about being yourself. The opening smells like jam. Blueberry dominates, lifted by mandarin. It has a purple and almost candied feel. Licorice comes next and sets the tone. It is dark and soft, and it coils around a fairly heavy tuberose and rose. The sandalwood base rounds everything off without taming the sugar. This is a dense fruity floral gourmand with no half measures. Licorice makes Lolita Lempicka the obvious comparison. The resemblance is loose, since Me is more floral and less powdery. Think of a fruitier Flowerbomb with heavier flowers underneath. The sweetness gets tiring after a few hours. Some will love that density. Others will reach for something lighter by mid-afternoon.
When to wear it
A winter evening scent to use sparingly. One spray on the neck is plenty.
It belongs to the Floral, Gourmand, Fruity family. Me is one of 14 creations by Lanvin in our encyclopedia.
