Our take
What does Météore smell like?
Louis Vuitton added Météore to its men's line in 2020. In-house perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud composed it in Grasse. The idea is simple: a citrus scent that doesn't vanish after twenty minutes. Calabrian bergamot, orange and Sicilian mandarin lead. Three peppers come with them: black, pink and Sichuan. The last one fizzes in the nose the way it does on the tongue, a small electric tickle that keeps the citrus awake. The heart stays aromatic. Guatemalan cardamom and Indonesian nutmeg frame a very clean Tunisian neroli. Java vetiver closes things with green, slightly earthy smoke. Next to Acqua di Parma Colonia, the benchmark of smart colognes, Météore smells peppier and much woodier. Longevity is modest for the price. You get a good four hours before it settles into a skin scent. That's the genre's flaw, and the vetiver only half fixes it.
When to wear it
An office scent for summer over a white shirt, or for sunny weekends. Use four sprays instead of two given how long it lasts.
It belongs to the Woody, Citrus family. Météore is one of 13 creations by Louis Vuitton in our encyclopedia.
