What does Legend Spirit smell like?
Montblanc launched Legend Spirit in 2016, five years after the original Legend. No perfumer is credited in the sources we checked. The opening pairs bergamot and grapefruit with pink pepper. It smells like an upmarket shower gel, and that is meant kindly. The heart keeps the lavender that runs through the whole Legend line, adding fresh cardamom and a marine accord. This is where the scent finds its character, more airy than fougère. The base stays light. Oakmoss brings a small bitter note that musk and cashmere wood soon cover. Everything is tidy and clean. Bleu de Chanel is another fresh woody scent worn at a lot of offices. Legend Spirit is less ambery and more aquatic by comparison. It also feels closer to the men's scents of the 2000s than to those of its own decade. A good everyday fragrance, no more, that does exactly what you expect.
When to wear it
Spray it in the morning in spring and summer. Three sprays last until lunch, and you may want a top-up after.
