Our take
What does Les Gourmandises de Nina smell like?
In spring 2017 Nina Ricci dressed its apple bottle in acid pink and candy-style toppings for Les Gourmandises de Nina. It is a limited edition of Nina (2006), first sold in travel retail as a 50 ml eau de toilette. It follows La Tentation de Nina and Les Délices de Nina, two earlier sugary spins on the line. The opening is a clean lemon, close to lemonade. Then the heart heads off on holiday with passion fruit and a piña colada accord, so expect pineapple and coconut. The base drops back into the house sweetness. Praline and caramel coat the skin. A quiet gardenia reminds you this is still a floral. Compared with the original Nina and its tart candy apple, this one is more tropical and much sweeter. Longevity is what you'd expect from a summer eau de toilette, which is to say short. Enjoy it the way you'd enjoy a sorbet: quickly and without overthinking.
When to wear it
For summer, the beach and weekends with no plans. Spray generously, because it fades fairly fast.
It belongs to the Floral, Gourmand, Fruity family. Les Gourmandises de Nina is one of 20 creations by Nina Ricci in our encyclopedia.
