Our take
What does Nina Rouge smell like?
Nina Ricci added Nina Rouge to its apple family in 2019. Olivier Cresp composed this eau de toilette flanker. The bottle keeps the fruit shape and swaps in a glossy red. It opens sharp: zesty citron and a raspberry with real bite. Then the heart softens. Gardenia brings a creamy note and ginger flower adds a small, bright warmth rather than heat. From there the scent goes openly gourmand. Caramel and vanilla build a candy apple smell straight out of a funfair, and the brand makes no secret of it. Longevity is what you'd expect from an eau de toilette, decent and no more. Compared with the original Nina from 2006, which is lighter and tarter, Rouge is sweeter and warmer. Nina Extra Rouge arrived in 2021 and pushed even further toward praline and rose.
