Our take
What does Nina Fleur smell like?
Nina Ricci released Nina Fleur in 2022 in the famous apple-shaped bottle. Olivier Cresp, who also wrote the 2006 Nina, composed this eau de toilette. The brand presents it as vegan, with 92 percent natural-origin ingredients and an upcycled Italian lemon made from fruit rejected by the food trade. The opening is crunchy. Granny Smith apple brings its green sourness and lemon makes it almost sharp. Then the flowers open. Orange blossom and neroli build a white, clean and slightly soapy heart. The base stays light, with soft musk and a pale cedar and no sugar at all. That is where Nina Fleur parts ways with its older sister. The 2006 Nina played on toffee apple and praline. Nina Fleur keeps the apple and drops the caramel. It feels more grown-up and also less memorable.
