Our take
What does Girls Can Say Anything smell like?
Zadig & Voltaire launched Girls Can Say Anything in spring 2019. It followed Girls Can Do Anything from the year before and carried the same message of freedom. Quentin Bisch composed the eau de parfum. The opening pairs iris with peony. Iris leads, powdery and slightly earthy, while peony adds a fresh petal note. Tonka sits in the heart. It gives the scent its tone of sweet hay and almond. Vanilla, musk and amber fill the base, along with a fern accord that keeps some green in the mix. That fougère touch sets it apart from the usual trendy gourmands. Compared with Lancôme's La Vie est Belle, another vanilla iris, it is less praline and more aromatic. On skin it softens quickly. Some will find it too polite for such a talkative name.
When to wear it
A spring and autumn scent that works by day or on a date. Two sprays on the wrists, and the tonka does the rest.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber, Fougère family. Girls Can Say Anything is one of 8 creations by Zadig & Voltaire in our encyclopedia.
