What does Chrome Intense smell like?
Azzaro released Chrome Intense in September 2015, almost twenty years after the original 1996 Chrome. The name promises more power, and the formula roughly delivers. The opening keeps the family's citrus flash of bergamot and grapefruit, sharpened by clean ginger. Hedione adds that airy feel of sheer jasmine. The heart stays aquatic, with ozonic notes and a lichen that leaves a green, mineral trace. Then comes the main change. Mate brings a herbal, lightly smoky note close to tea. Woods, musk and amber do the rest. The result smells clean, like a freshly ironed white shirt, with more body than the regular Chrome. Next to Bleu de Chanel, released a few years earlier, it feels simpler and more aquatic. This is no evening scent. It earns its keep at the office and in summer without ever surprising you.
