Our take
What does Guess Dare smell like?
Guess released Dare in summer 2014. Bruno Jovanovic composed this eau de toilette, described as a green fruity floral. The pink bottle and friendly price point clearly target a young audience. The opening is the best part. Kumquat brings the sourness of candied zest, softened by pear blossom and lemon blossom. The heart pairs a watery cactus flower with light jasmine and a wild rose. Nothing heavy happens here. The flowers stay fresh and see-through. The base is a small surprise. Creamy coconut blends with blonde woods and musk, so the end of the day feels softer than you might expect. Marc Jacobs Daisy plays in the same field. Dare is greener at the start and milkier at the finish. Longevity is what you would expect from an entry-level eau de toilette.
