Our take
What does Fuel for Life Homme smell like?
Fuel for Life Homme launched in 2007, signed by Annick Ménardo and Jacques Cavallier. It was Diesel's first fragrance developed with L'Oréal. Anise and grapefruit open it, a fresh and slightly bitter pairing that wakes you up. Raspberry comes next, tart rather than sweet, and it is what gives the perfume its personality. Lavender sits beside it and keeps things in fougère territory. Heliotrope dominates the base with its powdery almond softness, over discreet woods. Some retailers file it as a woody oriental, which makes sense once it has warmed on skin. Red fruit paired with anise is still rare in mass-market masculines, and the pairing has aged better than many of its rivals from that year. It remains on sale.
When to wear it
Autumn and spring, weekends or evenings. Three sprays, and it lasts reasonably well.
It belongs to the Fougère, Aromatic family. Fuel for Life Homme is one of 18 creations by Diesel in our encyclopedia.
