Our take
What does Loverdose Tattoo smell like?
Diesel spun Loverdose off into this Tattoo version in 2013, composed by Anne Flipo and Pascal Gaurin at IFF. Where the original leaned on licorice, this one takes a milky turn. The opening is lively. Bergamot and mandarin are sharpened by a tart blackcurrant that prickles the nose a little. The floral heart stays polite. Orange blossom, jasmine and rose make a tidy little bouquet without much personality. The base is where it happens. Milk and rice build a nursery-dessert accord, soft and slightly starchy, thickened by vanilla and tonka bean. Woody notes stop it from sliding into custard. The result smells of soft skin and a wool jumper. An eau de toilette followed in 2014 with a different formula, more floral and built around tea.
When to wear it
Autumn and winter, everyday wear or a date. Three sprays, since it stays close to the skin.
It belongs to the Floral, Oriental / Amber family. Loverdose Tattoo is one of 18 creations by Diesel in our encyclopedia.
