Our take
What does Luna Blossom smell like?
Nina Ricci launched Luna Blossom in 2017, a year after Luna. Fabrice Pellegrin composed this fruity floral eau de toilette, housed in the brand's apple-shaped bottle. The opening is clear-cut. Pear brings juicy fruit and bergamot a bright citrus edge. Peony, magnolia and jasmine form the heart. Peony leads, rosy and a little watery, like a bouquet just lifted from the vase. The base is minimal, just cedar and musk. It's light and clean. Perhaps too light, since it has nearly vanished after three hours. Compared with the 2006 Nina, with its candied apple and praline, Luna Blossom is fresher and more floral. It loses the confectionery side that gave the line its charm. Some will call that progress. We find it polite to the point of being see-through. The bottle does a lot of the work.
