Our take
What does Seductive Homme smell like?
Guess launched Seductive Homme in August 2011, a year after the women’s Seductive. It was the first masculine in the line, and the perfumer was never named. The opening leans on cardamom, cool and slightly camphor-like, with mandarin and pink pepper adding fizz. The heart plays the violet card, powdery and a little green, and vetiver dries it out. That is the best part. The base is more conventional. Patchouli, sandalwood and amber set up a woody warmth, softened by white musks and a creamy orchid note. It is clean and easy, designed to please without dividing anyone. There is a faint echo of Dior Homme in the powdery side, minus the iris and cocoa that give the Dior its depth. Longevity is average, which suits a daytime scent. On a cold day it barely leaves the collar.
When to wear it
An office scent for autumn and spring, quiet and inoffensive. Three sprays are needed to last into the evening.
It belongs to the Oriental / Amber, Woody family. Seductive Homme is one of 10 creations by Guess in our encyclopedia.
